VARIATION
1. Delete the
title of the award published 19 May 2000 (315 I.G. 861), and insert in lieu
thereof the following new award title:

3. Delete
clause 1, Parties to, Title and Duration of the Award, and insert in lieu
thereof the following:
1. Parties to, Title and
Duration of the Award
The Parties to this Award shall be the employer and the
Transport Workers’ Union of Australia, New South Wales Branch.
This Award shall be known as the TNT Express Specialised
Services Consent Award and shall operate from the first full pay period to
commence on or after 22 July 1998 and shall remain in force thereafter until 31
December 1999.
4. Delete
definition "C" of clause 3, Definitions, and insert in lieu thereof
the following:
C. "Employer"
or "TNT Express" shall mean TNT Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 000 495 269)
trading as TNT Express or any other trading name which may apply from time to
time.
5. Insert
after clause 8, PUD (Pickup and Delivery) Committee, the following new clauses
9 and 10, and renumber existing clauses 9 to 12 as clauses 11 to 14,
respectively:
9. Casual Employees
(i) Without
limiting the provisions of the Transport Industry (State) Award, the employer
may engage up to three (3) casual employees from 6.00 am, Monday to Friday,
inclusive.
(ii) Subclause
(i) above shall apply to the am handling function, without any preference for
overtime for permanent employees commencing prior to casual employees.
10. Pick Up and Delivery
Efficiencies
The following outlined efficiencies in this clause shall be
adopted to improve the overall performance of the fleet:
(i) Incorporation
of Sony bulk work, where appropriate, into the fashion pick up and delivery
work, to reduce overall taxi truck usage.
(ii) Reduce the
number and increase the flexibility of two man crews in the C.D. fleet. Offsiders shall only be required for those
deliveries actually requiring two men.
Offsiders may be used in Tautliners when necessary.
6. Delete
subclause B of clause 12, All Purpose Wage Increases and Further Productivity
Measures, and insert in lieu thereof the following:
B. The
increases contained in Table 1 :Wages - Full Time Weekly Employees, of Part B,
Monetary Rates, are in full satisfaction of the second 5% wage increase, due in
September 1999 or when the site agreement on productivity increases is reached,
whichever the greater.
7. Delete
Table 1: Wages - Full Time Weekly Employees, of Part B, Monetary Rates, and
insert in lieu thereof the following:

variation shall take effect on and from the beginning of the first pay period
to commence on or after 10 November 1999.
