Providing Legal Services
The Department of Attorney General and Justice provides the Government with a range of legal services, including legal advice and representation, as well as litigation and transaction work.
The Department also provides legal advice and representation to members of the community entitled to legal asistance. This includes people who have been granted legal aid in relation to serious criminal charges, or who are affected by the operations of specialised inquiries, such as the Police Integrity Commission.
As a key provider of legal services, the Department also plays a role in improving the quality of legal services and legal management in the NSW Public Sector.
